Something completely different...

A company in Beachwood, Ohio that makes and ships 3D printers to 45 states and 75 countries: http://www.makergear.com/. Just a reminder that the Cleveland area is still producing world-class precision machinery.

Bug reports

Let's continue doing bug reports on the FBDK Group at http://groups.google.com/group/fbdk/. That way we'll be able to verify whether others are having the same problem and document the fixes, all within the same discussion.

Import button

A new "Import" button has been added to make it easy to import a few files that you may have developed with older versions of the FBDK (if you need to do bulk import of a lot of files, you may want to do that with the operating system's file manager). See http://www.holobloc.com/doc/fbdk2/import.htm for details.

FBDK Discussion Group

If you'd like to participate in public discussions of the FBDK and its applications, you can sign up for the FBDK Discussion group at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/fbdk. This is especially good for asking questions and getting answers from other users.

Pre-release of FBDK 2.0

Version 2.0 of the Function Block Development Kit (FBDK 2.0) from Holobloc Inc is now available in pre-release form for testing purposes at http://www.holobloc.com/fbdk2/. This software enables you to build and test data types, function block types, adapter types, functions, resource types, device types, network segment types and system configurations according to the IEC 61499 standard.

The development of FBDK 2.0 is essentially complete; however, much of the documentation is still in the process of being updated.

FBDK 2.0 is deployed using Java(TM) Web Start technology, which allows it to be improved and updated continuously and transparently. Major improvements will be announced in this blog.

Comments, bug reports and suggestions are welcome.
